African Flower Hexagon Blanket CAL...

We have been absolutely addicted to crocheting up the African Flower Hexagon motifs and each of us has decided it is time for a new cozy blanket in our life. This cheery design has absolutely endless colour possibilities! Plus, it sounds like a bunch of people would like to join us for this crazy fun ride...so we decided to spearhead a Summer Crochet-A-Long!

barbsWhy crochet a blanket in the summer, you ask? Why, because you can whip up a hexagon or 12 quickly. They are small, very portable and super fun to make. Oh, and did we mention addictive? They also look terrific as little stacks all over your dining room table! You can leave the assembly to the cooler weather... Not to worry, we plan on having a special assembly demo to show you how to do it...and not lose your mind. We are gonna aim for some time in September so you will have a couple months to make up as many hexagons as you would like.

Whether you are new tocrochet or already a pro we hope you will pick up your hooks and join us for our veryfirst crochet-along. Be warned it’s very addictive and easy to do. wips

Each Tuesday evening of July and August we will host Hexagon Hour from 7-8pm! Come on in and work away on your hexagons. Need help? Well we’re here for just that... bring your progress, your questions, and we will cheer eachother on. We will share tips on changing colours, managing ends, and assembling the blanket. A newer crocheter...no worries, we will work it through one stitch at a time!

GO forth and check out the Tutorial we will be following! Heidi Bears has a very comprehensive set of instructions with clear pictures on how to create these little beauties! This tutorial breaks each step down precisely!

Easy Peasy.
