What does yarn weight actually mean?

Yarn weight is a standard designation for the strand's size or diameter, not the package's weight on a scale. Thicker yarn generally produces fewer stitches per inch; thinner yarn generally produces more. That affects fabric thickness, drape, stitch scale, yardage and the hours involved, but the category alone does not dictate the final fabric.

The Weights, One by One

0 — Lace
